Two Small Pet Changes I'd Love to See (and I know you're watching A-Net :))
Very simple really.
When you use a bow skill as a ranger, the character will move into range and use that skill as soon as it can.
1) Do that with pets When I target an enemy and click on say, predators pounce, have it so my pet then charges in to attack that target and use it's attack when in range. Even have it so that in order to send your pet in, your ranger needs to be within a certain range of the target (prehaps a bit further than a longbow range) before your pet will charge into the fray.
In conjunction with this change...
2) Have a pet retreat skill. For 5 energy or whatever you feel is fair, your pet will attempt to run back to your position. It would make sense if it were a shout but again, I'm not fussy :P
I realise that in all possibility these changes have already been suggested but I'd love to have just that little bit more control over my pet (I love my spider - mr muffet and long to use him always!).
Thank you!

I agree totally that you need more control over pets (and henchies)...
For 2), maybe change the AI so your pet is more responsive when your pegging it?
Whatever.

Aye, I just think that point 1 should be relatively easy to implement and would make such a huge difference to the use of pets. How hard can it be to script a pet to attack players target when using an attack skill?

While your ideas are good, they are too small for what could be much better ideas.
Basically idea 1 is a must, and I have no idea why pets don't charge their targets better.
Idea 2 again is good, I would love it if my blasted pet would stop fighting and run away with me, but sometimes it's handy for the pet to be fighting so I can get away. But the skill bar disable is a real pain.
What I meant at the start is what has always been badly needed... we need pet commands! A simple command window/pane where we can issues commands like:
- Reteat!
- Follow me
- Move to this location (Click on ground)
- Hold your Ground (Stay Command)
Till pet commands are added, pets simply lack the AI needed to make them truely useful. I'm very disappointed that A.net have not implemented Pet Commands... heck even Henchmen commands in Factions!

I'm in full agreement with all of those points however, knowing how long the community has been asking for them and as yet has had no sign of them being implemented, I thought a smaller, yet important change would be a good thing to ask for.
Please A-Net, something this small would make such a huge difference to us beastmasters! Plus it will give you more time to work on the aforementioned skill bar

Make it a real skill and give the pet defence and a speed boost while running toward you.

As great as more pet evolutions would be, this post is focused on the points I made in my first post, I really want my pet to attack without me having too!
